STEFANO BOERI ARCHITETTI
Architect and urban planner, Stefano Boeri is Full Professor at Politecnico di Milano and visiting professor in several international universities. In Shanghai he is Director of the Future City Lab at Tongji University: a post-doctoral research program which explores the future of contemporary metropolis under the perspectives of biodiversity and urban forestry.
Stefano Boeri Architetti’s work ranges from the production of urban visions and architectures to the interior and furniture design, with a constant focus on the geopolitical and environmental implications of urban phenomena.
The focus on the relationship between city and environment leads in 2014 to the construction of Vertical Forest in Milan, the first prototype of building that conceives living nature as an essential element of the architectural design. The Vertical Forest, covered with 800 trees and 20,000 plants, has received many international awards and it has become a model for urban forestry, as well as an inspiration for international projects.
Stefano Boeri ArchitettI, based in Milan and with offices in Shanghai and Tirana, is currently working on urban forestry projects such as Vertical Forests in Paris, Lausanne, Utrecht, Eindhoven, Haunggang and Nanjing and several models of Forest City all over the world.
